Mother of Joshua, she’s a dedicated doctor by profession and a passionate autism mom by practice, her
life is a blend of medical expertise and personal experience. She strives to
bridge the gap between clinical practice and the real-world challenges faced by
families like hers . Through her experiences, she aims to inspire others, share
valuable insights, and promote awareness and understanding of autism in our
communities.
Alex Rodrigues
Vice President
Alex Rodrigues, father of Naina, an adult female child with autism, has over four decades of working experience in the NGO and development sector and has strong expertise in the areas of child labour eradication, vocational training , livelihoods. He also has extensive experience in the Rural Sector. He has been involved in the incubation of new ventures like Prajayatna, Labournet & Maya Organic, Faircraft creations, Artisian Pride.
Elizabeth Kurian
Secretary
A mother of two, is an Architect based in Goa. Born in 1996, Ashwin, her elder
son has Autism. She is a founder member and presently the Secretary of TIES &
has been working in the field of disabilities & Inclusion in Goa from 2003. She is
the Project Lead of the STAR (Skill Training, Art & Recreation) Project for young
adults with Intellectual disabilities, run by TIES.
She has also started a venture called Ash "win" of products with mat embroidery
done by her son in the hope of making him independent and prove to the world
that people with disabilities can be productive members of the society.
Martha Menezes
Treasurer
She’s the mother of Shania Menezes, an adult female with Down’s Syndrome. Treasurer of Ties for the past six years Martha is otherwise a homemaker.
Wendy D Sa

Mother of Rhys, Wendy has dedicated her life to understanding the complexities of his autism and has helped him navigate his everyday life. She has closely worked with professionals in the field and has been part of several autism research studies. As a member of TIES, she has held the position of Treasurer for two terms, was closely associated with the Holy Cross High School, Life Skills Resource Room, Bastora, where her son was educated and helped run the Moira Respite Centre.

She is a dedicated hotelier and a proud mother to René Lobo, an adult son with Edward Syndrome, who is currently a member of his school’s Special Olympics basketball team
Sasmita S. Akhtar

M.Phil in Sociology from Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi, she put her subject to use as Author /Publisher of coffee table books at Nishcam Publication, her publication house.She’s the MD of Niwesh Tech Pvt Ltd. Her manufacturing company deals in purely off grid solar power solutions. Things took a turn when her second born, Anwesh, was diagnosed with Autism. She’s now closely associated with TIES and the STAR project.
